Major Conferences

  • 1993 – Formation of IAMI in Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, drafting its Bylaws and Registration done By Prof NG Rao
  • 1995 – First National Conference (IAMI-1995) was successfully organized at Hyderabad with the First President (Honorary) Dr RD Lele,  Chairperson of Organizing Committee, Prof NG Rao and Organizing Secretary, Dr RVSS Avadhanulu of NIMS, Hyderabad. DRDO, Military Hospitals, NIMS and other local Medical Colleges participated in a big way.
  • 1997 – Second National Conference (IAMI-1997) at Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore was very successfully organized under Prof NG Rao as the President and Dr Lazar Mathew, Director of  DEBEL (DRDO), Bangalore as the Organizing Chairperson. It was attended and participated by large number of authors and poster presentation delegates.
  • 1999 – Major workshop in lieu of National Conference (IAMI-1999) which was cancelled due to heavy floods in Chennai) was held for two weeks with tutorials and practicals in Basic Applications of Computers in Medicine at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences conducted by Prof NG Rao as President and Dr RVSS Avadhanulu of NIMS as its Organizing Chairman.
  • 2001 – The Third National Conference (IAMI-2001) was held in New Delhi under the guidance of Prof NG Rao as President and Dr Atul Bal as the Chairman of Organizing Committee on a grand scale. The Chief guests were Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Directors of AIIMS and IIT and Director General of ICMR.  Dr N Kishore, Managing Director, Tendercare, New Delhi who was conducting practical training programmes for doctors on usage of computers in medical profession helped in a big way.
  • 2003 – The Fourth National conference (IAMI-2003) was held in Chandigarh under the Presidentship of Prof NG Rao with Dr OP Sharma as its Organizing Chairperson and Dr Ashok Kumar Attri as its Organizing Secretary with a very large number of delegates. The chief guests were the Director of PGIMER, Direcor General of ICMR and Secretary Health, Govt of Punjab. Dr OP Sharma, Consultant in Ophthalmology and Director of IndMedica Ltd, Chandigarh was elected as Next President and Dr AK Attri as the Secretary.
  • 2004 - IAMI Midcon-2004, was held in May 2004 in S E Railways Auditorium, Garden Reach, Kolkata under the Presidentship of Dr OP Sharma and Dr S Sanyal, Vice President, IAMI and CMO, South-Eastern Railways, Calcutta as the Chairman of Organizing Committee.  The Chief Guest was Prof SK Dubey, Director of IIT Khargapur.  The first printed issue of IJMI was released during this IAMI Midcon by the President, IAMI and live tele-medical consultation services by Dr Shetty were demonstrated.
  • 2005 – The Fifth National conference (IAMI-2005) was held in Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Amritsar under the Presidentship of Dr OP Sharma and Dr Sanjay Bedi as the Organizing Chairperson in a very grand way with large number of local doctors and medical students.
  • 2007 – The Sixth International Conference (IAMI-2007) was held at Kochi in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences under the Presidentship of Dr SB Gogia with Prof Ajit N Babu as its Chairman, Organizing Committee and Prof Suptendra Nath Sarbadhikari as its Organizing Secretary.  Dr Edward H Shortliffe and Dr vimla Patel from USA were the keynote speakers. The first On-Line version of IJMI was released by the Chief guest Dr Edward H Shortliffe.
  • 2009 – The Seventh National Conference (IAMI-2009) was held at Hyderabad under the Presidentship of Dr SB Bhattacharyya and Dr Bhudeb Chakraborthy as its Organizing Chairman.
  • 2012 – The Eighth National Conference of IAMI was organized in conjunction and collaboration with Telemedicon-2013 in Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur under the Presidentship of  Prof Sanjay Bedi and Mr Sushil Kumar Meher as Secretary. Dr Maj Gen AK Singh organized the conference as its Chairman.
  • 2014 – The Ninth International Conference of IAMI was organized at New Delhi in conjunction and collaboration with APAMI-2014 under the Presidentship of Mr Sushil Kumar Meher and Dr SB Gogia as the Chairman, Organizing Committee. It was a grand success being the first international event on a large scale.
  • 2016 – The Tenth National Conference of IAMI was held at Bhubaneswar in All India Institute of Medical Sciences under the Presidentship of Mr Sushil Kumar Meher and Dr Saroj K Das as Chairman, Organizing Committee.

  • 2004 – Mid-Con 2004 was organized by Dr S Sanyal at Calcutta with live tele-medical consultations.
  • 2003 to 2016  – Preconference tutorials were held for 2 days in different cities by the Chairmen of Organizing Committees on various topics in Medical Informatics and Tele-Medicine.
